Nishiawakura Life

My name is Andrew Chu, and I am a 3rd year Wood Product Processing student at the University of British Columbia. Through the University’s Co-op program, I have been given the opportunity to come and work for various forestry companies in Japan. One of the companies is Hyakumori, which is a forest management company located in Nishiawakura village. Hyakumori is responsible for managing a large portion of the village’s forests. The aim of this blog is to allow a deeper look into Japan’s forest industry through the work done at Hyakumori and to show what life is like at Nishiawakura.
